Engineered Plastics
Acetal - Acetron, Delrin
Acetal has low moisture absorption, high strength & stiffness, easy to machine and has many formulation options such as Copolymer, Homopolymer, PTFE filled, and Internally lubricated enhanced wear grade.
HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)
HDPE meets FDA/USDA food handling guidelines (natural color), is chemical and corrosion resistant, light-weight, has no moisture absorption, contains high tensile strength, is non-toxic & non-staining and has thermoforming performance.
LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene)
LDP is light-weight, has good impact resistance, is extremely flexible, easily cleaned, contains thermoforming performance, meets food handling guidelines, has no moisture absorption and is chemical and corrosion resistant.
Nylon - Extruded & Cast Polyamide
Nylon is the first choice for all general purpose wear & structural components. It has the broadest size range availability, good mechanical & electrical properties, ideal balance of strength & toughness, there are many grade options such as FDA compliant, Internally lubricates, Heat stabilized and Cast or Extruded.
PET-P (Polyethylene Terephthalate) - Ertalyte®, Sustadur®
PET-P is good for both wet & dry environments, has high strength & rigidity, is ideal for close tolerance parts, has excellent stain resistance, contains good wear resistance, excellent dimensional stability & better resistance to acids than nylon or acetal.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene has excellent dielectric strength, chemical resistance and outstanding heat resistance.
Polyurethane
Polyurethane has outstanding abrasion resistance, very high impact strength, very low water absorption and is bondable to other materials.
PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene) - Teflon®
PTFE is inert to almost all chemicals, has outstanding electrical properties, is the slipperiest substance known and absorbs essentially no moisture.
PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride)
PVC has outstanding corrosion resistance, excellent insulating properties and good mechanical strength.
UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)
UHMW is known for superior wear resistance and part life in wet and dry environments, has excellent abrasion resistance, low coefficient of friction, no moisture absorption, is corrosion resistant, has excellent noise abatement, excellent impact strength & maintains key physical properties to -30°C.
