Advanced Plastics
Borotron®
Borotron® is easy to handle and fabricate, durable over a wider temperature range, consistent density and homogeneity, contains superior dimensional quality flatness, and absorbs neutron radiation.
Modified PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) - FLUOROSINT®
Modified PTFE is the most dimensionally stable PTFE-based product, has continuous use temperatures to 500°F (260°C), better wear resistance than PTFE and its chemical resistance parallels PTFE.
PAI (Polyamid-Imide) - TORLON®, TECATOR
PAI maintains strength & stiffness to 500°F (260°C), has minimal expansion rate to 500°F (260°C), has excellent wear resistance in bearing grades and is able to endure harsh thermal, chemical & stress conditions.
PBI (Polybenzimidazole) - CELAZOLE®
PBI has the highest mechanical properties of any plastic above 400°F (204°C), highest heat deflection temperature 800°F (427°C) with a continuous service capability of 750°F (399°C), or 650°F (343°C) in air with short term exposure potential to 1,00°F (538°C), has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion & highest compressive strength of all unfilled plastics.
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) - KETRON®, SUSTATEC
PEEK is a chemically resistant & bearing wear material fro continuous use to 480°F (250°C). Has very low moisture absorption, inherently good wear and abrasion resistance & is unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam
PEI (Polyether-Imide) - ULTEM® (1000 PEI, 2300 PEI), SUSTATEC PEI
PEI has high strength & performs in continuous use to 340°F (170°C), has high dielectric strength, UL 94-V-0 rated with low smoke and is available in glass-reinforced grades.
PEI-SD (Static Dissipative Polyether-Imide) - SEMITRON®, HYDEL PEI-7-SD
Static Dissipative product with thermal capabilities to 500°F (260°C).
PI (Poly-Imide) - DURATRON®, SINTIMID
PI has good performance at elevated temperatures (>800°F), good chemical resistance, is easily matched from a broad range of shapes, and has high strength is tough and dimensionally stable.
PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) - TECHTRON®, RYTON, ENSFIDE
PPS has excellent chemical resistance, excels in corrosive environments to 425°F (220°C), has essentially zero moisture absorption, machines to tight tolerances and is an excellent alternative to PEEK at lower temperatures.
PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) - RADEL® R
PPSU has the best impact & steam resistance to 400°F (205°C), is highly resistant to steam autoclaving, contains impact resistant, high modulus of elasticity and heat resistance.
PSU (Polysulfone) - PSU 1000, SUSTATEC PSU
PSU has a broad temperature range capacity, good thermal & electrical insulation characteristics, radiation stability, low ionic impurity, hydrolysis resistant and has hot water & steam performance to 300°F (150°C)
